A Life Changed - A Dog & A Dad

This story was forwarded to me by Ann Platt of Pets Are Inn.  It is not like me to forward e-mails like this, and certainly not like me to post it on my web page.  This one touched me deeply and I wanted to make it available to you.  Unfortunately I don’t know the author, who deserves much credit.

I want to make a short commentary on the story, but feel free to skip this paragraph and go right to the story… You can read the word “God” as God or Goddess, Universe, Great Spirit, Allah or whatever Divinity you choose that helps you to keep your heart and mind open.  Also, I think it’s important to note that the author does not ‘give up’ when it appears her prayers/meditations/ wishes are not answered by a Divine Being.  Instead she takes responsibility for her part in this life drama and takes action on the things she can affect – making phone calls, making decisions and standing firm when she needs to.

RatatouilleAh, ratatouille simmering in the slow cooker. This recipe was shared with me by my friend, Dee Bierl.  When I was in Wisconsin this summer, Dee served this up while her dog, Cooper, serenaded us with a lovely canine composition he came up with himself.  Okay the truth is that I may have encourage his "singing" and joined in at the chorus... fortunately there is no recording of our rendition.  ...But I can share the recipe with you.

The Art of Letting Go

We were given a canvas and told to close our eyes - now with a pencil start drawing.  “What?” I thought.  Suddenly I found myself in an internal struggle not to judge; not to think I had to make something cool, unique, creative.  I fought the urge to worry about what the other collectors might think. What Pam might think.  What was I doing here?
