Amazing Gracie is the story of Dan Dye and Mark Beckloff, the two authors of the book, and their three dogs Gracie, Dottie, and Sarah.  It all starts with Dan and his dog Gracie, a deaf albino Great Dane puppy.  When he discovers that she cannot eat dog food like Mark’s two dogs can, he decides to take on the task of cooking food for her himself.  This becomes a huge success, leading to the foundation of the Three Dog Bakery.  But this book is more about our furry familial companions than about building a successful business up from nothing.  It is a touching story of how animals truly impact and affect our lives in amazing ways.  It is a reminder that we really cannot live without them and their companionship.
