Phoebe is a 3-year-old Shih Tzu mix breeding female from a puppy mill. She was in foster care with Amy for over 10 months, but was still not place-able in a pet home because of house soiling issues and fear-biting. Only Amy could go near her and Phoebe didn’t hesitate to bite if approach by anyone other than Amy. Amy and I worked together 3 times over the course of a few weeks. Here’s her report at the end of those visits…
"She did so great with Kris and Cheryl tonight I almost cried! It’s amazing to see how well she does with strangers now. We've even had 2 days and counting poop free during the day!!! I will be passing on your information to anyone I know that needs training. I've worked with trainers before and have never been this impressed. Thank you so much!!!"

UPDATE: January 2012, after a year in foster care, Phoebe has an adoption pending! "She's doing really good. I brought her to a rescue networking event last weekend and she went up to greet everyone. We rarely have accidents! I am so happy! She is now gated in our laundry room during the day with our Dane. The buddy system seems to work cause the daily accidents while we are working have been eliminated! We also ask her if she has to go potty and to "tell us", she answers with her cute barking when she has to. I'm excited about this new home and hope it works out."
